YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Junior Achievement of Eastern Ohio will host its 16th annual JA Titan Competition on Tuesday at the Williamson College of Business Administration at Youngstown State University.

About 60 high school students from school districts in Trumbull, Mahoning and Columbiana counties are expected to participate.

The JA Titan Competition is a simulation-based contest where students become CEOs of their own virtual cellphone company. Working in teams, they must make critical decisions on the production, marketing, research and development and corporate social responsibility that dictate the success of their companies.

Local business leaders encourage the students as they navigate through economic scenarios as well as provide important networking and information sharing opportunities.

Each member of the first-place team will receive $500; members of the second-place team will receive $250; and members of the third-place team will get $125. Additional consolation prizes will also be issued.

The event receives support from the Taco Bell Foundation, the William M. Neckerman Charitable Foundation, FactSet  and the Williamson College of Business Administration.
