SHARON, Pa. – Tails of Hope, a nonprofit spay/neuter clinic in Mercer County, will honor Dr. Nicole Grable with a Meritorious Service Award on Sept. 29 at Haitian Sensation, 76 Shenango Ave.
The event will include a buffet at 5 p.m., followed by an award ceremony at 5:30 p.m.
The award will recognize Grable for successfully performing more than 10,000 surgeries at Tails of Hope.
“Performing more than 10,000 spay and neuter surgeries is an incredible accomplishment, but the number only begins to tell the story of Dr. Nicole Grable’s impact,” Diane O’Brien Webster, president and co-founder of Tails of Hope, said in a news release. “Every surgery represents an animal who received compassionate, high-quality care and a family, shelter or community that benefited from her dedication. Dr. Grable has played an invaluable role in helping Tails of Hope advance our mission of preventing animal suffering through accessible and affordable spay/neuter services.”
Grable is the owner of Pet Set Go mobile veterinary services for Mercer County and portions of Lawrence, Venango and Crawford counties. She has more than 20 years of experience providing high-quality veterinary care and is the head of surgery at Tails of Hope.
Through the PAWSitive Pathways to Veterinary Careers workforce development program, Grable has helped train more than 80 high school veterinary assistant program students from 2020 to 2026 during hands-on clinic experience at Tails of Hope. During their training in the clinic, the students contributed in various ways to provide more than 1,900 surgeries and other veterinary services to pets of families from western Pennsylvania and eastern Ohio.
