YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Tamburitzans, America’s longest-running multicultural song and dance ensemble, will bring their new production, “The Shared Song,” to Ford Family Recital Hall at the DeYor Performing Arts Center at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 16.
Tickets range from $39 to $29 and are available at DeyorPAC.org. Senior citizens and students receive sharply discounted rates.
The Pittsburgh-based Tamburitzans have been a performing troupe for 85 years.
Known for their high-energy performances and cultural authenticity, the Tamburitzans bring audiences on a journey through town squares and countryside villages. Clad in colorful folk costumes, the group showcases the traditional music and dance of Eastern Europe – with a rousing detour through an Irish pub.
From the harmonies of Croatian folk singers to the footwork of Serbian kolo, the performance brings to life centuries-old traditions.
In addition to homegrown talent, the Tamburitzans’ 2025 ensemble includes student-performers from Kazakhstan, Serbia and Spain, each of whom brings a unique personal heritage and perspective to the stage.
For many of these artists, “The Shared Song” is more than a performance – it’s a meaningful tribute to their own cultures and a chance to share them with American audiences. “It feels like I’m telling my story, and the story of my country, through music,” said Aleksandar Milkovic, who grew up surrounded by the music of the kafana.
