AKRON, Ohio – The Shootouts’ latest album, “Switchback,” will be released Friday, May 30, and the band will celebrate it with a concert at the Goodyear Theatre the following day.
An expanded seven-piece version of the Akron-based band will perform the new album in its entirety at Saturday’s concert. Songs from the Shootouts’ three previous albums will also be on the set list.
“Switchback” showcases the Shootouts’ unique Americana-country sound. It features an impressive array of guest artists, including Vince Gill, Rodney Crowell and Sam Bush.
“Trampoline,” the first single from the release, debuted in April at No. 37 on the Americana Music Association’s radio chart. The group’s third album, 2023’s “Stampede,” spent more than 15 weeks in the Top 10 of the Americana radio chart.
The Shootouts are Ryan Humbert, Emily Bates and Brian Poston, with Mark Butto and Erin Vaughn.
Since forming in 2015, the act has shared the stage with Marty Stuart, Steve Earle, Sheryl Crow, Chris Isaak, Jim Lauderdale and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. It has played the Grand Ole Opry eight times since 2023, most recently in April.
Lauderdale, who is a Grammy-winning songwriter, will be the opening act for Saturday’s concert, which starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets range from $30 to $20 and can be purchased in advance at GoodyearTheatre.com.
