YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Butler Institute of American Art expects to reopen this weekend after an unexpected closure Friday because of a gas leak.

Looma Cafe, which is in the building, is also closed Friday.

A gas line crew came to the museum Thursday and started work to correct the problem, according to Butler spokesperson Susan Carfano.

The museum’s art handlers had to clear the sculpture vault to make access to the gas lines easier, she said.
