CANFIELD, Ohio – The annual farm animal baby shower at the MetroParks Farm, 7574 Columbiana-Canfield Road, will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 26.
The farm’s newest arrivals, including goats, piglets, calves, chicks, ducklings and more, will be there to greet visitors at the family-friendly event. Admission is free.
Guests will also have the opportunity to see mother animals that are expecting. A sheep shearing demonstration will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The event will also include tractor wagon rides (cash only) and concession trailers. Guests can purchase cones filled with animal feed to feed to the animals.
The barns at the MetroParks Farm are now open for the season. Visitors can view animals daily from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Extended hours will be available from June through October, with the barns remaining open until 5 p.m.

Pat Travers Band Coming to Robins Theatre
WARREN, Ohio – Pat Travers Band will come to the Robins Theatre on July 24.
Tickets for the 8 p.m. concert range from $39 to $19 and will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, April 18, at RobinsTheatre.com and the box office, 160 E. Market St.
The band scored its first hit in 1979 with “Boom Boom (Out Go the Lights).”
The band’s most recent albums are “Can Do” and “Pat Travers Live,” both released in 2013.
Scrappers Egg Hunt Date Is Changed
NILES, Ohio – The date of the Scrappers egg hunt at Eastwood Field has been changed to Wednesday, April 16, because of the rainy forecast.
It was originally scheduled for Tuesday, April 15.
Gates will open at 5 p.m., with the first egg hunt at 6 p.m. The hunts will be broken down into three age groups: 1-4, 5-8 and 9-12. There will be a variety of activities for children, including photos with the Easter Bunny and Scrappy, face painting, balloon twisting and more.
All tickets must be purchased in advance, and both children and adults must have a ticket. Tickets are $5 for children and $1 for adults and are available at the Scrappers front office and online HERE.
YSU Student Art Show at McDonough Museum
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Spring 2025 Graduating BFA Art Exhibition, featuring the art and design work of students at Youngstown State University, will open Friday, April 18, at the McDonough Museum of Art and run through May 3. An opening reception will take place from 5-7 p.m. Friday.
Admission is free. The museum is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday.
Lit Youngstown Seeks Poems Inspired by Art
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Lit Youngstown and the YWCA have announced an open call for poems inspired by artwork made by women artists during this year’s YWCA Women Artists Show.
Participants will receive three images to inspire one to three poems. The poems will be read by their author or a Lit Youngstown reader at the art show opening July 24 at the YWCA. The poems will also be displayed beside the corresponding artwork during the show. Poets are not required to attend the event to participate. Poets of all ages are welcome. The deadline to register is May 15.
