Pints vs. Polio Fundraiser at Penguin City
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Rotary Club of Youngstown will raise a glass for a global cause during its annual Pints vs. Polio fundraiser at Penguin City Brewing from 4-7 p.m. Friday.
The event coincides with World Polio Day. Since 1985, Rotary International’s Polio Plus initiative has been at the forefront of the global effort to eradicate polio. It has helped immunize more than 2.5 billion children worldwide. Today, wild poliovirus remains endemic in only Afghanistan and Pakistan, but continued vaccination efforts are critical to eliminating the disease entirely.
Penguin City Brewing will donate $1 to Rotary’s Polio Plus Fund for every pint of beer sold that day. The Youngstown Rotary Foundation will match the amount raised, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation will then double that total with a 2-for-1 match.
That means every pint sold equals $6 for the cause and can help save 14 lives.
Youngstown Rotary Beerfest 2026 tickets will also go on sale at the event, which will include free pumpkin carving.
