CANFIELD, Ohio – Bret Michaels has postponed all of his concerts for the next three to four weeks as he recuperates from emergency surgery, but his Canfield Fair performance Sept. 7 is still scheduled.

“As of right now, we are good,” said Ken Bigley, COO of JAC Live, which booked the fairgrounds show.

Michaels experienced severe kidney pain following a performance in Spokane, Wash., and was diagnosed with an obstructing kidney stone July 18 that required immediate surgery.

“If all goes well, I will hit the road late August back to delivering 1,000% energy, intensity and truly nothing but a good time,” Michaels said in a statement. 

Red Rican to Open Location in Austintown

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Red Rican, the local chain of Puerto Rican restaurants and a food truck, will open its newest location at 4500 Mahoning Ave., according to a Facebook post by the company.

“We’re excited to bring our famous Puerto Rican pastelillos, loaded bowls, homemade desserts, and the bold flavors you’ve come to know and love to our newest location,” the post stated. “Stay tuned as we share renovation updates, sneak peeks, and – most importantly – our official grand opening date.”

The Austintown location is in a building across the road from Family Farm & Home that formerly housed The Upstairs.

Red Rican already has locations in Boardman, Campbell and Niles.

Auditions for ‘Come From Away’

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio –  Auditions for Millennial Theatre Company’s production of “Come From Away” will take place from 6-9 p.m. Aug. 6 and noon to 3 p.m. Aug. 8 at the Youngstown Playhouse. Rehearsals are projected to begin in mid-September. 

The musical will be staged Nov. 6-15 at the Playhouse, with rehearsals running from 6-9 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

Auditionees (age 18 and older) should prepare a 30- to 60-second cut of a song in the style of the show. Bring a Bluetooth-capable device and an instrumental track, as an accompanist will be provided. There will also be a cold reading from the script. The production is directed by Joe Asente, with music direction by Cari Auth and choreography by Colleen Chance. Discount Tickets for Cedar Point, Waterpark

SANDUSKY, Ohio – Cedar Point is getting into the holiday spirit with a limited-time offer on park admission tickets.
