YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The body camera video shot by city police and firefighters immediately after the Realty Tower explosion will be used in an upcoming episode of a cable television show.
The footage will appear in a segment of “Body Cam” that will air at 9 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, on Investigation Discovery, according to TVEveryday.com.
The footage will demonstrate the bravery of the first responders, according to the website. It is one of three unrelated segments on the episode. The series uses body camera footage taken by first responders in emergency situations.
One person died and others were injured in the May 28 blast at the Realty Tower building in downtown Youngstown. The explosion was caused by a worker who cut a gas line that he mistakenly believed to be unused.
Free Concerts at Westminster College
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster College School of Music will close out the fall semester with a series of performances that are free and open to the public.
The Jazz Ensemble will present an evening of jazz standards and holiday sounds at 7:30 p.m. today in Berlin Lounge of McKelvey Campus Center.
The Westminster choirs will present “Welcome All Wonders” at 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, in Wallace Memorial Chapel. The concert will feature music by W. A. Mozart, Rosephanye Powell, Ola Gjeilo and John Tavener.
On Sunday, Dec. 8, the Westminster Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, Wind Ensemble and campus carillonneurs will be featured during the college’s annual Christmas Celebration Worship Service at 4 p.m. in Orr Auditorium. The Quintessence Strings will perform during the post-service reception in the Orr lobby.
A holiday concert and sing-along featuring student and faculty musicians will take place at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 9, in Berlin Lounge of McKelvey Campus Center.
‘Dreaming of a Jewish Christmas’ Film Screening
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Youngstown Area Jewish Film Festival will present “Dreaming of a Jewish Christmas” from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 15 at the Jewish Community Center of Youngstown, 505 Gypsy Lane.
“Dreaming of a Jewish Christmas” is a musical documentary that tells the story of a group of Jewish songwriters who wrote the soundtrack to Christmas. A vegetarian Chinese food meal will be served. Participants wearing their favorite holiday sweater will have a chance to win a door prize. A short holiday sing-along will follow the film.
The cost is $18, which includes the movie and meal. Registration is required by Dec. 12. Register HERE.
