WARREN, Ohio – The Village People will come to the Robins Theatre on July 26.

Tickets for the 8 p.m. concert range from $79 to $39 and will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, April 25, at RobinsTheatre.com and the box office, 160 E. Market St.

Village People became a household name after the 1978 release of their song “YMCA.”

The act’s hits also include “San Francisco (You Got Me),” “Macho Man” and “In the Navy.”

Village People was originally just Victor Willis, with session singers. A full lineup of singers was assembled for his appearance on “American Bandstand,” and the ensemble became a touring act.

Willis left the group in 1979 and rejoined it in 2016.

Radio Station Z104 Changes Format

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – A Mahoning Valley radio station has changed its format.

Cumulus Media’s Z104 – also known as WWIZ of West Middlesex, Pa./Youngstown – flipped from oldies to “today’s hits and yesterday’s favorites.”

The change was made necessary by the upcoming shutdown of seven of Westwood One’s 24/7 oldies formats, according to RadioInsight.com.

Westwood is a division of Cumulus. The elimination of the formats was announced last month.

In its new format, Z104 is using a different Westwood One format feed. The station retained its Z104 branding.

The change puts Z104 in competition with iHeartMedia’s market leading Mix 98.9 WMXY, which had a 9.5 share in the fall 2024 Nielsen Audacy ratings. WWIZ’s Oldies format had a 1.3 share, down from a 2.0 in the spring book.
