Free Admission for Older Folks at Oh Wow!
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Older adults accompanying children to Oh Wow! The Roger & Gloria Jones Children’s Center for Science & Technology will receive free admission every Wednesday this year.
It’s an expansion of the offer, as the free admission for grandparents was formerly offered one day per month, but now will be good once a week.
It is being supported by Cohen & Co. Foundation.
“We continue to seek partnerships that enable us to increase our visitor count and provide access to as many people as possible,” said Katie Seminara-DeToro, executive director. “We know many grandparents, great aunts, great uncles and other older adults play a vital role in caregiving for children. We hope free admission incentivizes them to come to downtown Youngstown and explore with their little ones.”
The first day for free grandperson admission is Feb. 4. Oh Wow! is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The children’s museum provides several other opportunities for reduced-price or free admission. In partnership with various libraries in the region, many library card holders can check out passes for free admission, up to four people. Additionally, the museum is a member of Museums for All, offering $2 admission to groups with SNAP cards, up to four people per card.
