YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The 2026-27 season of the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra will expand to six concerts – two more than the current season.

  • Dec. 22-23: “Home Alone 2,” with the movie screened on stage while the orchestra performs the soundtrack, Powers Auditorium.
  • Jan. 24: An American Tapestry, Stambaugh Auditorium.
  • Feb. 11: Almost Like Being in Love, Stambaugh Auditorium.
  • March 5: Paths Untaken, Stambaugh Auditorium.
  • May 14: Inspired by …, DeYor Performing Arts Center.

Keyboardist for The Cars Coming to Robins

WARREN, Ohio – Greg Hawkes, who was the keyboardist for Rock & Roll Hall of Fame band The Cars, with Eddie Japan, will come to the Robins Theatre on Oct. 10 for a concert in which they will perform the music of The Cars.

The show will include the band’s hits and deeper cuts. 

Tickets start at $35 and will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, June 4, at RobinsTheatre.com and the box office, 160 E. Market St.

Liberty Township to Celebrate America 250  

LIBERTY, Ohio – The township is inviting residents and visitors to take part in two America 250 experiences this summer: a self-guided Liberty Township Heritage Tour running now through July 18; and the Liberty Township 250 Celebration on July 18 at Churchill Park.

The Liberty Township Heritage Tour is designed as a fun, educational way to explore local history. Participants can visit historic sites, landmarks and local treasures throughout the community.

The tour includes an interactive “hunt”-style format. Participants visit the locations listed in the tour brochure, find the official stamp or clue marker at each stop and stamp the brochure in the matching box. Those who complete the tour can submit their brochure to receive a commemorative prize.

To close out the Heritage Tour, Liberty Township will host its America 250 Celebration from 5-10 p.m. Saturday, July 18, at Churchill Park, 4308 Belmont Ave.

In case of inclement weather, the celebration will take place at the Lyric Center (formerly the Liberty High School gym), 317 Churchill Road.

Rebel Rescue Plans Garage and Barn Sale

BERLIN CENTER, Ohio – Rebel Rescue Ohio’s annual garage and barn sale will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, June 6 and 7, at The Ranch, 16310 Ellsworth Road.

Rebel Rescue is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization that was created to help small domestic and exotic animals in need. Its facility, The Ranch, has the space and availability to take in and help more animals, providing sanctuary, funding and veterinary care. It also finds homes for unwanted or abandoned pets.

All proceeds from the event will benefit Rebel Rescue. Monetary donations will also be accepted. There will be no early-bird sales.
