SHARON, Pa. – Tickets and sponsorship opportunities are now available for Mercer County Food Bank’s annual Empty Bowls Mercer County fundraiser.
This year’s event will take place from 4-7 p.m. April 23 at the Hickory VFW Post 6166, 5550 E. State St., Hermitage.
Empty Bowls is centered around a simple meal of soup and bread that raises funds to help feed those in need throughout the county. Dozens of local restaurants and organizations participate, preparing their signature soups. The event also features a silent auction, basket raffle, live music and cash bar.
Event tickets are $30 and include soup, bread, dessert and a beverage, along with a locally handcrafted bowl to take home. The bowls are created by local artists who participate in a Throw Down event hosted by HopeCat, as well as by local students who craft bowls throughout the school year specifically for the event.
