Tim Francisco on Public Shakespeare | Excellence at Work
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Tim Francisco says public Shakespeare is “The movement.”
“What public Shakespeare is doing is looking carefully at the ways in which humanity’s education and literature can function more broadly,” says Francisco.
A professor of English and world languages at the Beeghly College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences and Education at Youngstown State University, Francisco discusses how he breaks public Shakespeare down into a “popular criticism.”
“We’re looking at the ways in which shakespeareans are increasingly incorporating social justice into their curriculum and into their teaching of Shakespeare.”
In this episode of “Excellence at Work,” Francisco shares some examples of how people are applying public Shakespeare in the real world.
