COLUMBUS, Ohio – Former U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan has been named one of 20 commissioners on the National Commission on AI and the Future of the American Workforce.
The bipartisan initiative is co-chaired by former U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo and former Speaker of the House Paul Ryan.
The commission will examine how artificial intelligence is reshaping the American workforce and develop policy recommendations to help workers, businesses and communities navigate the economic changes ahead, a news release states.
“AI is proving to be one of the most challenging policy issues America and the world will have to deal with in the coming decades,” Ryan said. “Bipartisan solutions must be in place so America has a predictable framework to harness all the benefits of AI to improve health, education and economic growth for both businesses and workers.”
Ryan said he wants “to make sure workers, manufacturers and communities have a real voice in this conversation” as policies are developed to “shape the future of the American workforce.”
