NILES, Ohio — Tlaquepaque Tequila cut the ribbon on its new downtown location this week at 41 Main St., taking over the space formerly occupied by StoneYard.
Owned by Juan Manuel Mata, the restaurant features a barroom, patio and seating for about 100. It is part of a chain of roughly 20 Ohio locations started in the late 1990s by Rafael Madrigal in Canton.
The menu offers traditional Mexican dishes including tacos, burritos, carne asada, ceviche and fajitas, along with a full bar serving margaritas, tequila cocktails and draft beer.
Mata said he was drawn to the location’s history and character. “As soon as I came here and saw that the StoneYard was for sale, I fell in love with it,” he said. The restaurant is the first Tlaquepaque location in the Mahoning Valley.
