WARREN, Ohio – Nursing schools across the country are struggling to fill faculty positions, a shortage that continues to limit enrollment despite strong student demand. Educators cite retirements, lower pay than hospital roles and the specialized training required as barriers to recruitment, leaving colleges and universities competing for a shrinking pool of qualified instructors.

Plus, two local service organizations and adult education students at Choffin Career & Technical Center donated more than 1,180 toys and other gifts to Akron Children’s Hospital.

And IBEW Local 573 donated 26 new bicycles to Trumbull County Children Services, marking its largest holiday contribution since the effort began more than a decade ago.
