WARREN, Ohio — Local businesses partnered with workforce officials and UAW Local 1112 to open a transition center for Ultium Cells employees who were laid off in January. The center, housed at the union hall, provides computers, internet access and job-search resources.

Plus, 717 Credit Union is launching a monthly networking series, Coffee and Connections, in partnership with The Business Journal to bring together business owners, professionals and community leaders across northeastern Ohio.

And Youngstown State University has received the Carnegie Foundation’s Elective Classification for Community Engagement, placing it among fewer than 300 colleges and universities nationwide.
