YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Troy Rhoades served in the U.S. Air Force for 31 years, retiring in 2014 as command chief master sergeant of the 910th Airlift Wing, which is based at the Youngstown Air Reserve Station in Vienna.
In 2001, he was deployed to Qatar, Kuwait and Iraq for Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom, says his wife, Christine Rhoades.
“I continue to be inspired by his service because he always puts others before himself,” she says. “He is a true team player, gives his all and completes projects with integrity and perseverance.”
Troy applies his military training to his personal life, as well as his professional work as a manager at FirstEnergy, “and the many community projects in which he serves,” Rhoades says.
“He makes me a better person and I’m honored to call him my husband.”
