WEATHERSFIELD TOWNSHIP – Trumbull County was awarded a $750,000 state grant for the Crain Drive sanitary sewer project, officials announced.

The project will provide sanitary sewers to structures on Anderson Morris Road, Bianco Avenue, Carl Street, Crain Drive, Forest Avenue, Gardenland Street, Oakwood Avenue, Saint Francis Avenue and Wabash Avenue.

Trumbull County will use $520,000 of the funds awarded by the Ohio Department of Development for construction of the mainline sewer. The county will use $200,000 for low- and moderate-income household connections. The remaining $30,000 will be used for administrative costs.

County commissioners committed $350,000 in federal American Rescue Plan funds for the project. They also included $70,693 for the project in their fiscal year 2025 budget.

Beneficiaries will be contacted in 2026 to begin the income-qualification process once construction nears completion.
