WARREN, Ohio – During its regular meeting last week, the Trumbull County Planning Commission recognized three individuals for their contributions.
The recognitions are part of the commission’s Something Good Initiative for both June and July.
David J. Radachy, director of the Lake County Planning and Community Development Department, was honored for his decades of leadership in the planning community. As the primary organizer of the annual Northeast Ohio Planning and Zoning Workshop, Radachy has fostered collaboration among planning professionals across the state, maintained a statewide planning directors listserv and championed projects such as Lake County’s Vision 2050.
Radachy’s leadership, advocacy and commitment to the community and economic development have had a lasting, positive impact on Lake County, Trumbull County and all of northeastern Ohio, a news release from the commission states.

Zak Steiner, planning coordinator for the Trumbull County Planning Commission, was recognized for his leadership, teamwork and dedication to public service in his first year with the commission. Steiner played a key role in organizing the 2025 Northeast Ohio Planning and Zoning Workshop, coordinated major reports for the commission and advanced the Mecca Township Comprehensive Plan through extensive community engagement.
Steiner is known for his positive energy, collaborative spirit and willingness to take initiative, the release states.
Kimberly Vaughn, plats and zoning coordinator for the Trumbull County Planning Commission, was commended for her innovation, technical expertise and leadership in modernizing subdivision and zoning processes. She has led the creation of updated digital zoning maps for communities countywide, organized educational panels for planning professionals and produced mapping tools that have strengthened the county’s funding proposals.
Vaughn also shares her GIS expertise with students and local officials, inspiring future planners and supporting community development throughout Trumbull County, the release states.
