WARREN, Ohio – The Trumbull County Planning Commission will host the first public meeting as part of the countywide land use planning process at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Kinsman Township Building, 7890 state Route 5.
The meeting will focus on communities in the northeast portion of Trumbull County, including Bazetta, Fowler, Gustavus, Hartford, Johnston, Kinsman and Vernon townships, the city of Cortland and the village of Orangeville.
The countywide land use planning process is being coordinated by the planning commission and GIS Man Development on behalf of the Board of Trumbull County Commissioners and is funded through the Ohio Department of Agriculture’s Land Use Planning Grant Program.
The project will include an analysis of existing land use plans, community outreach, public surveys and the development of a final action plan, with recommendations based on information collected throughout the process.
Residents, elected officials, township and municipal representatives, zoning officials, first responders, planning and zoning commission members and other community stakeholders are encouraged to attend the meeting and provide input. Public participation will play a role in helping to identify priorities and guide the future of land use throughout the county.
Additional land use planning meetings will be scheduled in other areas of the county as the planning process continues.
