YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Bishop David J. Bonnar will install Father Bryan Tutas as pastor of Guardian Angels Parish.
The Mass will take place at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 20 at St. Joseph Church, 2427 Tuscarawas St., Canton. Afterward, all are welcome to join for a community reception in the parish hall.
Tutas and Parochial Vicar Rev. Silvestre Robinol brought their Filipino heritage as members of the St. Matthew Province (Philippine Province) of the Rogationists of the Heart of Jesus to the Diocese of Youngstown in October 2025.
The Rogationists’ vocation is working in education and formation, especially among the poor and seminaries. They have a presence in Italy, the Philippines and South America. As noted in a Catholic Echo article, as of 2018, there were more than 370 Rogationist priests in their global community. Leadership from the province is expected to be in attendance and includes Provincial Superior Rev. Orville Cajigal and Provincial Council Rev. Ronaldo Paulino.
