YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – SMARTS, Students Motivated by the Arts, recently announced that its team continues to grow with the addition of Abbie Twyford Wilson as assistant director.
Twyford Wilson holds a B.A. in political science and master’s degree in education from Youngstown State University. She has a strong background in events management and brings 11 years of experience in higher education, with a focus in college student leadership development.
“I am excited to use my skills in new ways and remain connected to sowntown Youngstown through Smarts. The philosophy that ‘every person is an artist’ encourages my own creative pursuits and allows me to connect them with my professional growth,” Wilson says.
A native of the Ohio Valley, Twyford Wilson has called the Mahoning Valley home for several years. She most recently was the director of student activities for Eastern Gateway Community College. She lives in Youngstown with her husband, Brian, and their twin two-year old budding artists.
Smarts is a stand-alone 501(C)(3) community-based art school that has been served the youth of the Mahoning Valley since 1997.
