Ultium Celebrates Production of 10M Battery Cells
LORDSTOWN, Ohio – Ultium Cells announced that its local plant has produced more than 10 million electric-vehicle battery cells.
Ultium Cells officials and employees commemorated the milestone during the company’s annual employee appreciation event.
“It is good to celebrate the steps that are made in the journey to the destination,” said Kareem Maine, Ultium Cells Ohio plant director. “Achieving this significant milestone would not have been possible without cross-functional collaboration, hard work and dedication from our entire team. I look forward to celebrating our next milestone as we continue to ramp up production and our team continues to grow.”
The employee appreciation event raised $2,736, which was donated to the United Negro College Fund to support its mission of providing educational opportunities and financial assistance to students in need.
Ultium Cells is a joint venture between General Motors Co. and LG Energy Solution.
