YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Unemployment rates in Mahoning and Trumbull counties were up in July compared with the prior month but unchanged in Columbiana County, the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services reported Tuesday.
Trumbull County reported the highest rate among the three counties, with a 6.6% unemployment rate in July. That was up from 6.2% in June and 5.5% in July 2024.
Mahoning County’s unemployment rate in July was 6%, up from 5.6% in June and 5.3% in July 2024.
Columbiana County’s unemployment rate in July was 5.6%, unchanged from June and up from 5.1% in July 2024.
The unemployment rate in the city of Youngstown increased from 7.3% in June to 8% in July. The rate was up from 6.9% in July 2024.
The city of Warren’s unemployment rate increased from 8.5% in June to 9.3% in July. The rate was up from 7.2% in July 2024.
