YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Unemployment rates in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties were up in June compared with the prior month, the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services reported.
Trumbull County reported the highest rate among the three counties, with a 6.2% unemployment rate in June. That was up from 5.9% in May and 5.4% in June 2024.
Mahoning County’s unemployment rate in June was 5.6%, up from 5.3% in May and 5.2% in June 2024.
Columbiana County’s unemployment rate in June was 5.6%, up from 5.1% in May and 5.1% in June 2024.
The unemployment rate in the city of Youngstown increased from 6.7% in May to 7.4% in June. The rate was up from 6.7% in June 2024.
The city of Warren’s unemployment rate increased from 7.6% in May to 8.5% in June. The rate was up from 7% in June 2024.
