WARREN, Ohio – Unemployment rates in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties were down in May compared with April, the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services reported Tuesday.
Trumbull County reported the highest rate among the three counties, with a 4.1% unemployment rate in May. That was down from 4.6% in April and 5.7% in May 2025.
Mahoning County’s unemployment rate in May was 3.8%, down from 4.4% in April and 5.1% in May 2025.
Columbiana County’s unemployment rate in May was 3.1%, down from 3.4% in April and 4.8% in May 2025.
The unemployment rate in the city of Youngstown decreased from 6% in April to 5.3% in May. The rate in May 2025 was 6.5%.
The unemployment rate in the city of Warren decreased from 6.6% in April to 5.9% in May. The rate in May 2025 was 7.4%.
