BROOKFIELD, Ohio — Uniserv LLC, a Brookfield-based metal processor, specializes in custom slitting and packaging of master coils to customer specifications. The company works with a wide range of metals, including titanium, stainless steel, carbon steel and other high-tech alloys, serving industries such as automotive, aerospace, infrastructure and oil and gas.
Charlie Pitts, Uniserv president, said the company was originally a carbon slitting operation but has expanded into specialty metals over the past decades. The Kerola family acquired the company nearly three years ago and plans to expand its operations.
Jeremy Kerola, vice president, says the company is investing in machinery upgrades, automation and process optimization, including work with Youngstown State University’s industrial engineering program and AI-assisted workflows. Upgrades include new drives and PLCs on production lines, crane improvements and ERP modernization.
