YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley will be accepting requests for proposals for its 2027 Community Investment funding cycle.
Local nonprofit organizations serving children, families and individuals throughout the Mahoning Valley are encouraged to apply for funding opportunities focused on education and emergency services.
Funding awards are expected to range from $2,500 to $50,000 for one-year programs beginning Jan. 1, 2027. The funding process is open to eligible human service organizations whose programs align with United Way’s strategic priorities and demonstrate measurable impact within the community, a news release states.
“Our goal is to invest in partnerships that create meaningful, lasting change throughout the Mahoning Valley,” said Bob Hannon, president and CEO of the United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley. “We are looking for organizations that are committed to collaboration, measurable outcomes and empowering children and families in our region.”
The submission window will officially open at noon July 15 and close at 5 p.m. Aug. 31. Applications must be submitted electronically through the e-CImpact grant portal. No emailed or mailed submissions will be accepted.
Eligible applicants must serve residents within Mahoning County, or Hubbard, Girard and Liberty communities, and must be able to provide annual demographic and program outcome data. Organizations will also be expected to participate in regional initiatives and collaborative community efforts.
Organizations interested in applying are encouraged to review the Community Investment Guidelines and explore available online resources before beginning the application process.
