If you told Danielle Benic six years ago that she would one day own a full-service hair salon and day spa, she wouldn’t have believed you.
She now owns and operates Unwind Day Spa, Salon & Boutique in downtown Sharon, Pa.
Benic relied on her 30-plus years of experience in the beauty, health and wellness industry to create the high-end salon, which offers cosmetology services.
Offerings go beyond traditional salon services and include a private space for women experiencing hair challenges, including those in post-chemo recovery.
The day spa offers hair extension services, nail services with nail art, pedicures and foot soaks, massage therapy and facials. It also has a Himalayan salt therapy room, infrared saunas and blowout services.
Unwind Day Spa includes a boutique that sells clothing, candles, jewelry, purses and other items.
Benic was inspired to open the business after a visit to a salon with friends and family before a wedding. “Every salon has a different style, and while we were there, I kept thinking of ways to create a more relaxing women’s day out,” she says.
Unwind does not just focus on beauty.
“I wanted to create a place that focused on health and wellness,” Benic says. “Beauty isn’t just about the outside – it’s about taking care of ourselves so we can be healthier and happier.”
