YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Local unemployment rates showed a month-over-month increase in November, the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services reported.

Mahoning County’s unemployment rate in November was 4.6%, up from 4.1% in October. Trumbull County’s rate increased from 4.2% to 4.8%, and Columbiana County’s rate rose from 3.9% to 4.3%.

Rates in all three counties were up from a year earlier. The November 2023 unemployment rate was 3.7% in Mahoning County, 3.8% in Trumbull County and 3.5% in Columbiana County.

The unemployment rate in the city of Youngstown increased from 5.3% in October to 5.8% in November. The rate was up from 4.5% in November 2023.

The city of Warren’s unemployment rate increased from 5.4% in October to 6% in November. The rate was up from 4.5% in November 2023.
