Valley Vehicle Sales Tick Upward in May
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Sales of new vehicles to residents of Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties were up slightly in May compared with year-ago figures, according to the Greater Cleveland Automobile Dealers’ Association monthly report.
Data show that dealers sold 2,488 new cars and trucks to area residents last month, compared with 2,455 sold during the same period in 2023, an increase of 1.3%.
Boardman Subaru reported the most new vehicle sales with 169, followed by Greenwood Chevrolet with 136 registrations. Cochran Chevrolet reported it sold 118 new cars and trucks during the month; Toyota Boardman said it sold 110 new vehicles; and Cochran Buick GMC reported 108 new vehicle sales.
Sales of used vehicles also increased during the month compared with May 2023, the report shows.
Dealers report that 2,098 used vehicles were sold to local buyers in May, a 4.2% increase from a year ago.
Combined sales of new and used vehicles stood at 4,641 units for May, an increase of 4.4% compared with last year.
