Virtual Event | Brain Gain Navigators: Angels for Animals
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Ask a group of kids what their dream job is, and veterinarian is in the top 15 … even placing higher than a doctor, according to The Balance Careers.
So what goes into caring for our four-legged friends professionally? Representatives from Angels for Animals and Eastern Gateway Community College shared their experiences with students during a virtual Brain Gain Navigators webinar earlier this month.
Drs. Mike Sabihi and Jennifer Clipse, and Amber Padula, a veterinarian technician with EGCC and Angels for Animals, discussed the work they do each day, as well as the type of education students will need to enter their respective professions.
Vet techs in particular are in high demand, as the Bureau of Labor Statistics projects the profession will grow by 17,900 jobs between 2014 and 2024. Sabihi instructs the new Vet Tech program at EGCC and discussed how those who are interested can enroll in the program.
