Volunteers Needed for Free, 2-Day Dental Clinic in Sharon
SHARON, Pa. – The Buhl Regional Health Foundation has partnered with Remote Area Medical, a nonprofit provider of pop-up clinics delivering free, quality care to rural communities in need, and is seeking volunteers for a dental clinic June 10 and 11 at Sharon High School.
Volunteers are needed to help provide free dental services and clinic support to residents of Mercer County and surrounding communities. Services available at the clinic include dental cleanings, fillings, extractions and X-rays.
Volunteers are also needed to help set up and take down the clinic on June 9 and 11. Overnight parking staff to greet patients is also needed, and interpreters can volunteer to aid patients through the process, either in the parking lot or during clinic operations. Individuals do not need to work in the medical field to volunteer as general support.
“Volunteers are the backbone of this operation, and we are humbled by those who are willing to give their time and talents to support this dental clinic,” said Kateri Linn, director of programming at the Buhl Regional Health Foundation. “Each and every set of hands will play a part in positively impacting the health of our community that weekend.”
Volunteers can register at volunteers.ramusa.org or buhlregionalhealthfoundation.org/dental. Dental professionals must register by May 26. General support volunteers should register by June 1.
