“Stomp” has been circling the globe for a few decades and will make its way back to Youngstown on Wednesday.

The cast of the unusual show communicates rhythmically, turning everyday objects – brooms, paint cans, kitchen sinks – into percussion instruments.

The show started as a street performance in the UK and has since been performed in more than 50 countries and in front of 26 million people.

Wednesday’s performance at Powers Auditorium will start at 7:30 p.m. Tickets range from $79 to $49 (plus fees); click HERE.

There are a few other one-of-a-kind shows and events this Mother’s Day weekend.

The Garden Café by Kravitz at Fellows Riverside Gardens, 123 McKinley Ave. on the West Side, will offer a Mother’s Day menu from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Guests can choose from a brunch buffet ($20 for adults and $10 for children 12 and younger) or the light lunch ($12). Reservations are not required. After dining, guests can stroll the beautiful gardens or shop at the Youngstown Flea Mother’s Day Market, which will be set up on the grounds.

Also Sunday, “The Six Ages of Woman,” a one-woman stage show by comedian Mary Faktor, will be presented at 2 p.m. at the Robins Theatre in Warren. It’s a comedy that chronicles the whole life of an everywoman through a series of phone conversations with her best friend. For tickets, click HERE.
