YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Western Reserve Transit Authority Board of Trustees voted unanimously to elect officers for the upcoming year during its May board meeting.
The board elected Anthony Stratis to continue serving as president. Under WRTA bylaws, the board president can serve up to two consecutive terms.
“I am honored and grateful for the confidence my fellow board members have placed in me to continue serving as president,” Stratis said. “WRTA is entering an exciting period of growth and transformation, and I look forward to continuing our work to strengthen public transportation and support the communities we serve throughout the Mahoning Valley.”
The board also elected John P. Brown III to continue serving as vice president.
“It is a privilege to continue serving as vice president of the WRTA board,” Brown said. “The progress WRTA has made in innovation, service and community impact has been tremendous, and I am proud to be a part of the leadership team helping guide the agency into the future.”
Dean Harris, WRTA chief executive officer, emphasized the importance of leadership continuity as the agency prepares for several major initiatives aimed at modernizing and enhancing public transportation in the Mahoning Valley.
“Anthony and John have provided steady, forward-thinking leadership during a transformational period for WRTA,” Harris said. “As we prepare for significant investments, including major construction projects slated to begin this summer and a new fleet expected to come online next year, their commitment to ensuring WRTA remains a leader in public transportation has positioned us well for the future. Their leadership helps us meet this important moment of growth, innovation and expansion while continuing to keep the Mahoning Valley moving forward.”
