NEW WILMINGTON, Pennsylvania — Washington Monthly ranked Westminster College No. 63 among national liberal arts colleges in its 2025 College Guide and Rankings, placing it among the magazine’s Top 100. The placement reflects a 16-spot rise from last year.

The rankings evaluate colleges on their “contributions to the public good,” using measures of social mobility, research and service.

Westminster is one of two liberal arts colleges in western Pennsylvania to earn a Top 100 spot.

In the service category, Westminster ranked No. 14 among 190 national liberal arts colleges. It also placed 57th among 1,421 institutions for preparing students for careers in socially valuable fields such as health, education and social work.

Washington Monthly also named Westminster a “Best Bang for the Buck College” in the Northeast, a designation the magazine says recognizes affordability and access.

The publication has released its College Guide and Rankings annually since 2005.
