NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – Westminster College is inviting community members to participate in Foundations of Leadership, a seven-week workshop series that brings together Westminster students and community participants for shared learning, dialogue and leadership development.
The program emphasizes meaningful interaction between students and community members and is guided by Simon Sinek’s book “Leaders Eat Last.”
Participants will engage in interactive, workshop-style sessions focused on leadership, communication, ethical decision-making and building trust-based environments.
The series will begin Jan. 13 and will meet each Tuesday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the McGill Memorial Library on Westminster’s campus. The final session will be held Feb. 24.
“The [program] is a unique format that fosters an exchange of ideas between students and community members,” said Helen Boylan, faculty fellow for community engagement and facilitator of the program. “With a focus on leadership, participating community members will help mentor and inspire the next generation of leaders.”
The program is sponsored by Westminster College’s Office of Professional Development and Community Engagement and is open to all community members. The cost is $25, which may be waived for those with financial need.
