YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Western Reserve Transit Authority has announced the 12 businesses that will be featured through its Give Local Small Business a Lift campaign.
The campaign, now in its fourth year, promotes and honors local small businesses, their owners and employees who exemplify the Mahoning Valley’s work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit.
The businesses were chosen from more than 100 nominees by the three campaign co-chairpersons: Dan Procopio, an adjunct professor of business and a senior product manager at CBC Global; Rob Zabel, president of Zabel’s Restaurant Equipment & Supplies; and attorney Nick Cerni, founding partner of the Nicholas Cerni Law Office.
The businesses that will be featured as part of the campaign are:

- Basinger Auction Service.
- Concrete Queen.
- Financial Security Management.
- GC Laminate Solutions.
- Gunner Pressure Washing.
- J.E. Washington Funeral Services.
- J Hardie Construction.
- Memories by the Yard.
- Neal’s Shoes & Uniforms.
- Ross’ Market.
- Shirt Wizard.
The businesses will be honored at a kickoff event April 30 at Lariccia Community Center in Boardman. They will also be promoted on WRTA buses and digital sign downtown, on TV commercials and on social media.
One of the businesses will be selected by vote as the Small Business of the Year. That business will receive a free TV advertising campaign donated by WKBN-TV and a social media campaign donated by Farris Marketing/StrategiX Social. Voting will run until 4 p.m. Friday. Vote HERE.
