VIENNA, Ohio – An Assumption of Command Ceremony will take place at 9:10 a.m. Sunday for Col. Christopher E. Sedlacek, who will become the new 910th Airlift Wing commander and the installation commander at the Youngstown Air Reserve Station.
Maj. Gen. Melissa A. Coburn, 22nd Air Force commander at Dobbins Air Reserve Base in Georgia, will preside over the event.
Sedlacek is a command navigator with more than 3,500 flying hours and has amassed more than 370 hours of combat flight time. Before his arrival at YARS, Sedlacek was the 302nd Airlift Wing commander at the Peterson Space Force Base in Colorado since August 2022.
Sedlacek was commissioned through the U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colo., in 1997 and later attended joint undergraduate navigator training. While on active duty, he served in Europe and later as a formal school instructor in the C-130. During his time in the U.S. Air Force, he deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom five times.
He left active duty in 2004 and joined the Air Force Reserve. He has held numerous key positions, including squadron commander, group commander and major command staff officer.
