YBI’s Shark Tank Returns May 15
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Youngstown Business Incubator’s Shark Tank event will return May 15, offering startups the chance to win $10,000.
The event will again be held at The Lake Club. Modeled after ABCs “Shark Tank” TV series, the contest will see entrepreneurs pitch their company to five investors, or “sharks.”
Medical Mutual of Ohio returns as the cash prize sponsor. The investors can make their own investments beyond the grand prize.
In the inaugural event, Augment Therapy won the grand prize, along with $200,000 in commitments from the “sharks.” Later, YBI entrepreneur in residence Jim Cossler told The Business Journal the company, which has developed an augmented reality program that aids in physical therapy for children, had investments totaling $750,000 directly tied to its appearance at Shark Tank.
Funds raised by the event will support the Youngstown Business Incubator.
Sponsorship opportunities are also available. For more information, contact YBI director of organizational advancement Colleen Kelly at 330 599 4505 or email@example.com.
