YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati’s Affordable Housing Program has awarded the Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corp. $2.4 million in grants for home repair and down payment assistance.
Farmers National Bank, Huntington National Bank and CareSource are the member institutions supporting YNDC’s applications.
YNDC partnered with Farmers National Bank on a $1.5 million application that will support the repair of 84 units of owner occupied housing.
YNDC also partnered with Huntington National Bank and CareSource on an application that was awarded $975,000 to support down payment assistance of up to $10,500 per unit to 75 homebuyers in the Mahoning Valley.
“YNDC is honored to receive these grant awards and looks forward to accelerating our continued work to further improve housing quality, increase homeownership and stabilize neighborhoods throughout Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley,” said Ian Beniston, YNDC executive director. “We are grateful to the Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati, Farmers National Bank, Huntington National Bank, CareSource, the city of Youngstown, The Raymond John Wean Foundation and other partners for their support and partnership in making this possible.”
The projects will be completed in 2026.
