YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Youngstown Area Jewish Federation will receive $200,000 for renovations and expansions to its community food distribution services.
The funds were included in the state’s biennial capital appropriations budget, which allocates nearly $4 billion for the maintenance, renovation and construction of state-owned infrastructure, including colleges, universities, school districts and other community projects.
The Youngstown Area Jewish Federation is among several Jewish organizations in the state that will receive funds.
“This funding represents an important investment not only in Ohio’s Jewish communities, but also in the organizations that enrich Jewish life while serving as vital partners to people of all backgrounds,” the Ohio Jewish Caucus said in a news release Tuesday. “From social services, cultural programming and Holocaust education, these institutions strengthen communities, preserve important lessons from history and bring people together. These dollars will help ensure our communities can continue making a meaningful, lasting impact on Ohioans for generations to come.”
Gov. Mike DeWine on Monday signed Senate Bill 450, the capital budget bill for fiscal years 2027 and 2028.
