YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Youngstown Area Jewish Foundation is accepting applications for its Mildred Engel Nurse Scholarship.
The scholarship provides financial assistance to individuals working toward an associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing. Recipients must live within a 60-mile radius of the Youngstown area.
The scholarship award may cover tuition and transportation costs up to $10,000 annually.
Recipients must commit to working at least three shifts per month as an STNA, LPN or RN (associate) at Heritage Manor Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation while pursuing their degree, or elect to work for Heritage Manor after receiving their RN license. Those without the necessary credentials are still eligible to apply. Heritage Manor will support recipients’ STNA training. Interested individuals must be accepted into an accredited RN nursing program.
Applications will be considered until the approved yearly scholarship fund amounts are exhausted, resetting each June 1.
