BOARDMAN, Ohio – Christina Fowler, co-owner of Youngstown Bakehouse, marked the bakery’s grand opening Wednesday, introducing a new space that blends custom desserts with an in-store experience for customers.
Fowler said the business grew from a home-based bakery into a full storefront after demand outpaced what could be produced at home, prompting the search for a permanent location about a year ago.
In addition to custom cakes and cookies, the bakery now offers a variety of elevated, European-style desserts, including pavlova, galettes and Italian cream buns, expanding its menu to include single-serve treats available daily.
The space also features seating, allowing customers to enjoy their desserts on-site, creating a more welcoming and interactive experience compared to traditional grab-and-go bakeries.
Fowler said the bakery has already received strong community support, reflecting the growth of a business that began with making cakes for family celebrations and evolved into a local destination.
