YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Youngstown City School District recently announced the appointment of three administrators who will oversee school and athletics in the upcoming school year.

Patrick Fecko will serve as the new director of Athletics and Student Experience; Dawn Walton will transition to co-principal at Harding Elementary School; and Moris Jadue will serve as principal of Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary. 

“Youngstown City School District is excited to welcome some familiar and new faces to our school community,” Superintendent Jeremy Batchelor said. “These appointments mark another step in our ongoing commitment to educational excellence and developing and growing our teams to continue strengthening the district.” 

Fecko was the football coach at Cardinal Mooney for 20 years, where he oversaw a significant increase in student-athlete achievement and fundraising success. His teams won four state championships. He also served Youngstown City Schools as the middle school faculty manager and dean for the past four years. 

Walton has served at YCSD for seven years. She previously was the assistant principal for three years at Chaney Middle School. Walton worked in other roles at the district, including sixth grade ELA teacher at McGuffey and as an instructional coach at East Middle School. She is certified to teach in grades one through eight and has served in education for 25 years. Walton earned her bachelor’s degree in education from Ashland University and her master’s degree in educational leadership from the American College of Education.

A lifelong resident of Youngstown, Jadue comes to the district from Boardman High School, where he served as assistant principal for the past eight years. He also taught Spanish and social studies at Boardman schools and Cardinal Mooney High School. Jadue received two bachelor’s degrees and a master’s degree in education from Youngstown State University. He also earned his master’s degree in education and educational administration from Westminster College.
