YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — The Youngstown Press Club will recognize veteran journalists, broadcasters and students at its Hall of Fame and Awards Dinner on Sept. 24 at Stambaugh Auditorium.

Five journalists will be inducted into the club’s Hall of Fame: Marie Cartwright, former vice president of corporate communications for DeBartolo Corp.; the late Paul C. Jagnow, former managing editor for news at The Vindicator; the late John Nagy, former WKBN radio news director; Tony Paglia, former senior regional editor at The Vindicator; and Lisa Solley, former managing editor at the Tribune Chronicle.

Recipients of the club’s Excellence in Media Award will be Sydney Canty, a WFMJ-TV anchor and reporter; Chelsea Simeon, digital executive producer at WKBN-TV and WYTV; and Margie Lenhart, morning show host on Willie 95.1 radio. The club will also present its Medal of Merit, an internal award for contributions to the organization, to retired Vindicator reporter Peter H. Milliken.

Scholarship winners to be recognized include Youngstown State University students Nicarlyle Hanchard, Aicha Sawaneh and Emily Wilaj, as well as Lillian Andrews, a Boardman High School student named Scholastic Journalist of the Year.

The event will begin at 5 p.m. Tickets are $50 for club members and $60 for nonmembers, with proceeds benefiting the club’s scholarship fund. Registration is required by Sept. 12 at youngstownpressclub.com.
