YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Youngstown Symphony Orchestra will present “Shakespeare in Love: Romeo and Juliet,” a Valentine’s Day themed concert, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, at Stambaugh Auditorium.
Erik Ochsner will again serve as guest conductor. Avery Boettcher, a soprano, will be the guest vocalist.
Tickets range from $20 to $60 and can be purchased in advance at ExperienceYourArts.org and the DeYor Performing Arts Center box office.
The program will traverse the emotional landscapes of love and fate through music. Beginning with Tchaikovsky’s Romeo and Juliet Fantasy Overture, the evening will continue with evocative arias by Gounod, Verdi, Puccini and others, highlighting Avery’s vocal range and expressiveness.
The performance will conclude with Prokofiev’s selections from Romeo and Juliet.
