YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Seventy-five students, faculty and staff from the Williamson College of Business Administration at Youngstown State University participated earlier this month in YSU’s annual Dare to Care Day of Service, a hands-on initiative supporting organizations across the Mahoning Valley.

Students and faculty were deployed April 10 to service sites throughout the region, where they worked alongside community partners.

Participants contributed about 225 hours of volunteer service, supporting a range of projects addressing community needs, from environmental efforts and educational support to nonprofit operations and historical preservation. Service sites included Boardman Park, The Butler Institute of American Art, Dorothy Day House, Habitat for Humanity ReStore, Inspiring Minds Youngstown, Junior Achievement of Eastern Ohio, the Mahoning Valley Historical Society, Oh Wow! The Roger & Gloria Jones Children’s Center for Science & Technology, the Rich Center for Autism, the Youngstown Historical Center of Industry and Labor and United Returning Citizens.

Participants supported organizations that serve the region by assisting with landscaping and park maintenance, exhibit preparation, administrative support, outreach efforts and assisting with community programs.
